Carmel Illustrates 'Brilliant Waters'

Landscape photographer Elizabeth Carmel has released a collection of images, 'Brilliant Waters: Portraits of Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and the High Sierra.' The book combines Carmel's fine-art landscapes with a selection of poetry by noted writers. Robert Redford has contributed the book’s foreword.

Wendy Shattil and Bob Rozinski have published their 11th book, "Valley of the Dunes." The 152-page coffee-table book features 120 of the duo’s favorite photos taken while exploring Colorado’s Great Sand Dunes National Park over the past 25 years.

Jack Dykinga Travels Arizona

Jack Dykinga has published his first book devoted entirely to the state of Arizona. The coffeetable book, written and photographed by Dykinga with a foreword by Charles Bowden, captures the diversity of the state in more than 120 images.

“Crater Lake National Park Wild and Beautiful” has been named the Official Book of the Centennial Celebration for Crater Lake National Park. Four photographers, Charles Blakeslee, John Hinderman, Fred Pfughoft and David Morris, captured the character of the park throughout the seasons and portrayed a number of the hard-to-find creatures who make Crater Lake their home. The book was originally published by Farcountry Press in 2001.

Crater Lake National Park is the jewel of southern Oregon's Cascade Mountains, but the beauty found at this magical place rivals just about any other natural wonder found in North America.

In the early morning, fog often can be seen pouring over the crater rim like a slow-motion waterfall. On calm afternoons, the placid lake surface, reflecting the clear skies above, produces some of the most intensely blue hues found in nature. And at sunset, the lake perfectly mirrors and intensifies the oranges and reds streaking across the sky.
